ViaKompas respects your privacy. This policy explains which personal data we collect when you use viakompas.nl or contact us, why we use it and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / AVG).

ViaKompas is the controller for the personal data described in this policy.

Which data we collect

• Contact form: your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, subject and message.
• WhatsApp, email and phone: the details you share with us when you contact us, such as your name, phone number and travel wishes.
• Bookings and account: the details needed to arrange your trip, such as names of travellers, contact details, travel dates and booking and payment information.
• Technical data: when you visit the website, your browser automatically sends technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit.

Why we use your data

• To answer your questions and prepare travel proposals (your request, or steps before a contract).
• To arrange and carry out bookings for flights, hotels, tours and transfers (performance of a contract).
• To meet legal obligations, such as keeping financial records (legal obligation).
• To keep the website secure and working properly (legitimate interest).

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

Who we share data with

We only share data when this is needed for your trip or to run our website, for example with:

• Travel partners such as airlines, hotels, tour operators and transfer companies, to make your bookings.
• Our hosting provider, which stores the website and its data.
• Payment providers, when you pay online.
• WhatsApp (Meta), when you choose to contact us via WhatsApp.
• Google, which provides the map on our contact page and may provide fonts used on the website. Google may receive your IP address when these load.

Some of these parties may process data outside the European Economic Area. In that case they must use appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep your data

We keep contact requests for as long as needed to help you and for up to 2 years afterwards. Booking and financial records are kept for 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law. After that, the data is deleted or anonymised.

Cookies

The website uses functional cookies that are needed for it to work, for example to remember your search or keep items in a booking. Embedded services such as Google Maps may place their own cookies when they load.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to receive your data in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use these rights, email us at info@viakompas.nl. We will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) via autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

Security

We take appropriate measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access, such as a secure (HTTPS) connection and restricted access to our systems.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The latest version is always available on this page.
